The Rising Storm is a garage/folk rock group that formed while attending Phillips Academy in Andover, Massachusetts, USA, in the mid-1960s. The Rising Storm is most notable for their 1967 album, *Calm Before*, which rock and roll historian Richie Unterberger cites on AllMusic as "one of the rarest and most respected garage band albums." The original members of the group were Bob Cohan (guitar), Todd Cohen (bass), Charlie Rockwell (keyboards), Tom Scheft (drums), Tony Thompson (guitar, lead vocals), and Rich Weinberg (guitar, vocals). As of this writing, all members of the band are still musically active today.
