In these times of widespread pessimism and the rise of pseudo-intellectual, introspective pop, The Pulsebeats are betting more than ever on fun and revelry. That's their message: rock and roll to enjoy with a few beers and a good time, and while they're at it, a chance to take a swipe at the corrupt politician of the day who tries to make our lives miserable. In fact, Nathan, the band's lyricist, has revived the social commentary that was so characteristic of his time as the singer of The Vipers (UK), as can be seen in the title track of the album, which refers to how politicians turn their backs on citizens' problems when they are needed most.
