En el subsuelo madrileño siguen apareciendo bandas que entienden el rock’n’roll como un territorio salvaje, físico y urgente. The Oompa Loompas son una de esas criaturas subterráneas, un grupo de garage rock ruidoso, afilado y cargado de electricidad, que bebe con devoción del sonido sixties más descarnado para retorcerlo hasta convertirlo en una fiesta psicótica y contagiosa.
La formación cuenta con dos nombres bien conocidos dentro de la escena, Chicho y Julia, miembros de Las Aspiradoras, una de las referencias esenciales del garage más sucio y feroz salido de la península en la última década. Aquí mantienen ese mismo espíritu kamikaze, pero lo empujan hacia un terreno más melódico y festivo, donde todo vibra con urgencia, elegancia y garra.
Con este proyecto demuestran que el garage sigue siendo un estilo vivo, peligroso y en constante mutación. The Oompa Loompas no rescatan los sonidos del pasado, los incendian de nuevo.
Su LP debut cuenta con el arte de Roberto Argüelles y masterización de Jorge Explosión.
