THE BROOMS - FREAKIN' OUT (LP)

Founded as a trio in 2015, with former Sullens members Pinha (guitar and vocals), Elso (drums), and Carla (organ), The Brooms later added Jorge (guitar) and João (bass), embarking on a musical adventure driven by their shared love for 60s garage sounds, especially those rooted in the iconic Vox Continental organ. This collaboration resulted in a unique repertoire that sets them apart.

Hailing from the heart of Barreiro's rock and roll scene, The Brooms deliver classic neo-garage vibes enriched with distorted guitars and the distinctive Vox Continental sound that defines their identity. Rooted in the Portuguese rock scene through collaborations with renowned bands like The Act-Ups, Lulu Blind, Sullens, Gasoline, and others, their sound is deeply ingrained.

Their highly anticipated third album, "Freakin' Out," will be released in March 2024 on Chaputa! Records. Comprising 12 new songs, recorded in March 2020 at Ponto Zurca Estúdios in Almada, Portugal, the album was meticulously recorded by Miguel Lima at Estrela d'Alcântara in Lisbon and Quiquinho Estúdios in Barreiro. The final mixing and mastering, completed in July 2023, were expertly handled by Max RB at Hollers Analog Studios in Málaga, Spain. Of particular note is the guitar contribution of Fast Eddie Nelson on the tracks "Don't You Tell Me" and "Old Man."

The Brooms have garnered critical acclaim, and their debut LP, released on the Chaputa and Groovie Records labels, sold out. Previous releases include a 2019 7" on Chaputa and a 2022 7" split, also on Chaputa!, with DEMOCRASH. On this split, both bands showcase their talent by covering Hawkwind classics.
