SKATAX - ONE SHOT (7")

The Crepitans formed in late 2013 when Micki (Upsttemians) brought together several Madrid-based musicians to create a band dedicated to the warmer sounds of the Caribbean island of Jamaica. The Madrid scene boasted excellent ska and roots reggae bands, so they decided to try and fill the void of rocksteady and original reggae on the city's stages.
The band has gone through different phases to reach its current state, with several lineup changes. Throughout, their passion and hard work have been constant, and thanks to these changes, the group has been able to continue rehearsing and enjoying what they love most: making music. Kingstonians, Desmond Dekker, Maytals, Clancy Eccles, Ethiopians... are some of their influences.
In 2015 they released their first 7" with the Madrid-based label Liquidator Music, showing their commitment to the sound and style of the sixties and to analog recording.
In 2019, they released their second work, repeating the recording method. A 7" EP titled 'Tribulations'. Four songs. Four styles. Four genres of Jamaican music interpreted by these enthusiastic Madrid natives. Ska, rocksteady, and reggae made in Madrid with respect and admiration for Caribbean music.
Liquidator Music, a world-renowned label, Óscar Martos (Greenville Records) on recording and mixing, Esteban Descalzo (Kingston Factory) on mastering and Benedicto Moya (Burning and Shooting) on ​​photos, complete the luxury team with which The Crepitans work.
