The Thanes are originally from Edinburgh, Scotland, and have been playing together for about 36 years. In that time they have released 23 singles and eight albums.
The Thanes' world is fueled by 60s beat and R&B, garage, punk and psychedelic pop-rock, as well as a wide range of other sounds including progressive rock and hard rock, folk and jazz.
For their new EP, they decided to include two new original recordings, "For What Reward?" and "Heed The Warning," which they've been perfecting in their rehearsal room and at various live shows since emerging from the Covid-induced lockdowns. They also recorded a cover of "You'll Never Do It Baby," a song better known by The Pretty Things, as well as a version of the great "It's Dark" by the 1960s Australian group Twilights.
