KID GULLIVER - KISMET (LP)

Kid Gulliver is a power-pop band from Boston. Their music is a potent combination of driving rhythms and sweet, catchy melodies with harmonized vocals. Their songs draw on influences from a vast catalog, ranging from the British Invasion of the sixties and classic rock and punk of the seventies to the new wave of the eighties and alternative and indie pop of the nineties. Yes, a bit "old school," but always with a fresh and original sound. There's no need for automatic pitch correction here. I never have needed it, and I never will. Singer and guitarist Simone Berk, whose previous band Sugar Snow garnered critical acclaim for its evolving songwriting, delivers instantly recognizable vocals. David Armillotti, formerly of Cookiecutter Girl and Hall of Mirrors, brings a guitar style that is both aggressive and melodic. Their pre-release single on Red on Red, 'Forget About Him,' reached number 1 on the Radio Indie Alliance Top 75, a global compilation of charts from hundreds of independent terrestrial, college, streaming and satellite radio shows, and they have been dominating the independent charts ever since.
