Hailing from the Canary Islands, with a long history like flies buzzing around a smoke-filled dive bar, Inadaptados have spent decades twisting the foundations of garage punk and R&B with the passion of true rock outsiders. Formed in 1990, the Lanzarote quartet returns the venomous psycho-rock onslaught of old Sonics and Cramps records with fury and a revisionist spirit, as if these four rowdy guys were trapped for life within the grooves of a 'Back From The Grave' compilation. They unleash the magnetism of labels like Estrus, In The Red, and Crypt Records, cranking up the fuzz like madmen and peppering a string of demo-sounding songs with nods to The Meteors and The Dum Dum Boys. They're not trying to renew the genre like this whole new crop of garage teenagers who dominate the headlines of the music press (forget it, this is rawer than what The Parrots or Novedades Carminha produce); rather, they're trying to replicate the subversive power of eighties psycho-billy with the same drunken and sticky audacity that made Wau y Los Arrrghs one of the biggest revival bands in Latin American rock.
