HUGO LOBO - SKA IS THE WAY (7")

After selling more than 200,000 records with his band Dancing Mood, Hugo Lobo presents his new solo EP 'Ska is the Way' which features luxury guests such as Carroll Thompson, Natty Frenchi Metsch and Publik Report.

Hugo Lobo is an Argentinian artist, recognized as the trumpeter, producer and leader of Dancing Mood, the most representative instrumental Ska group in Latin America.

With over 20 years of independent experience, Dancing Mood, under the direction of Lobo, has successfully established the genre within the mainstream of popular music by reinterpreting great classic works. The quality of Hugo's ska arrangements has led the band to record 15 albums with over 200,000 copies sold, selling out shows for more than 2,500 people in consecutive weekly series.

Throughout his career, the renowned trumpeter recorded, produced, and performed with international artists such as Rico Rodriguez, Winston Francis, Pauline Black, Dennis Bovell, Winston Reedy, Janet Kay, Carroll Thompson, Gaz Mayall, Georgia Ellis, The Skatalites, Doreen Shaffer, Lynval Golding, and AJ Franklyn, among others. He also collaborated with Argentinian artists like Los Fabulosos Cadillacs, Mimi Maura, Los Cafres, and many others from diverse genres.

It is worth noting that this year he was invited to play at the 'London International Ska Fest' as well as the tribute to Rico Rodriguez with his original musicians and Jerry Dammers.

Hugo Lobo, with his solo project, has taken his music to Paraguay, Chile, El Salvador, Costa Rica, Mexico, Guatemala, and Nicaragua, to name a few countries. However, despite performing on major stages in various countries, Hugo Lobo remains committed to sharing music, returning it to its purest underground roots. He travels to every corner of the planet, understanding the importance of supporting independent musicians and, in a way, demystifying the idea that capital cities are the sole centers of "cultural exchange."

This challenge lends its name to his new EP, 'Ska Is The Way,' which features international collaborations such as Carroll Thompson on the classic tracks 'Don't Stay Away' and 'Why Did You Leave Me,' and on the title track, 'Ska Is The Way,' which includes guitar by Natty Frenchi Metsch and vocals by the Jamaican band Publik Report. It also features 'Melody For Rico,' a song dedicated to his mentor in the style, with whom he played and recorded on many occasions, the great Rico Rodriguez.
