A formidable solo debut from Granada-based British musician Darren Joseph Anderson (formerly of Sunset Riders). 'Songs For Mystic Lovers' (Lucinda Records, 2022) is a lysergic, mystical journey through 60s pop and psychedelia, featuring the vocal magnetism of Syd Barrett, Ray Davies, and Iggy Pop. Joining Darren (vocals and guitars) on the recording are Javier Cantudo (drums), Javi Rodríguez (bass), and Antonio Ávila (keyboards).
In his return to the forefront, the Briton has dedicated all his talents to the song, without discriminating whether it takes the form of dark blues or folk ballad, acoustic virtuosity or potential pop single, shaping a complex and beautiful work, so timeless it smells of classic from a mile away.
