WOLF WOLF - TOTENTANZ (“DANCE OF DEATH”) (LP)

This title is quite explicit in terms of its themes. Behind it lie thirteen stories that take place on either side of death, but always featuring characters who live on the edge, ignored and unnoticed, outsiders who nonetheless find a place in the duo's comedic world. They have a rock edge that they take seriously, not only in the opening track 'Heidi is Alive' (amen to the title), or 'My Imaginary Friends' with its old-school guitar chords and a very Ozzy Osbourne-esque vocal timbre, but also in the album's carefully crafted aesthetic, both in the cover (created by the artist duo Barbara and Heini Gut) and in the promotional photos, with a macabre staging by Basel-based photographer Daniel Infanger.
