THIRTEEN ROSES SINGING IN A MALE WORLD VOL.2 (LP)
Beyond interpreting this phrase in any political sense—though it will be difficult to avoid that—this LP aims to highlight the role of female singers in the recording industry during the golden age of 20th-century pop. These women, in many cases, broke the rules of a predominantly male industry and paved the way for subsequent generations.
Some of these roses were large and beautiful, and changed their colors whenever they pleased; others bloomed briefly, but left deep fragrances that can still be enjoyed.
A small garden of just 13 roses, singing as loudly and clearly as they could to be heard. Let us take our hats off to them, for though many are no longer with us, the future belongs to them.
