THE TRIPWIRES - GET YOUNG (LP)

The Tripwires could be described as Seattle's all-star band. These superb musicians (John Ramberg, Jim and Johnny Sangster, and Dan Peters) are, or have been, fundamental members of such classic and high-quality bands as Young Fresh Fellows, Mudhoney, Model Rockets, The Minus 5, Roy Loney's Longshots, Neko Case, and many more. So it seems only fair to consider them true institutions of their city and intrepid veterans who survived Seattle's "Big Bang."

They formed in 2006, and after the release of 2 excellent albums of explosive Powerpop, «Makes You Look Around» (2007) and «House To House» (2010), in 2014 they present their third album, «Get Young», recorded by Jack Endino (Nirvana, Soundgarden, Mark Lanegan, Afghan Whigs, …) and Johnny Sangster himself.

What can you expect from this mix of musicians from those seminal Seattle bands? Well, you already know what to expect: the best Powerpop, Pubrock, and Rock&Roll you can imagine.

The defining characteristics of this band are Ramberg's powerful voice and his knack for writing catchy melodies, Johnny's immense talent as a guitarist with his original and classy arrangements, the sheer power of an explosive rhythm section, and a great garage/pub rock sound. All of this makes The Tripwires a unique, talented, and glorious band.

Due to their extremely busy schedules they can't tour much, but everyone who has been lucky enough to catch them live says they are amazing, as it should be in any great Rock&Roll band.
