Se produjo un cambio sísmico en la escena punk europea cuando los californianos Mike Sobieski y Norah Findlay eligieron al fenómeno vasco Kike Turmix como líder en 1987. Madrid era el lugar donde estar, y con la incorporación del bajista británico Barnaby Bowles y más tarde del español Angel Ramos, The Pleasure Fuckers forjaron un sonido singular, agarrando el punk y haciendo rock al mismo tiempo que agarraban el rock y hacían punk.
En 1988, Simple Needs fue el primero de una larga sucesión de singles, EP, LP, vídeos, bandas sonoras y documentales, y la banda fue conocida desde Helsinki a Perú y desde Praga a Seattle. Kike dejó nuestro mundo en 2005. Dietmar Post, uno de los primeros fans de The Pleasure Fuckers y ahora de Play Loud! y la viuda de Kike, Marga Gaffaro, recopilan Malasa;a Republic, una colección increíblemente cohesiva de grabaciones inéditas, tempranas y en directo.
