THE OLDIANS – GUITART DUET TRIBUTE TO THE GREAT ERNEST RANGLIN

Javier García, guitarist and leader of The Oldians, invites the renowned Madrid-based guitarist Javier Martín Boix to pay tribute to the great Ernest Ranglin, performing 'Big Business', an original composition by the Jamaican musician. As a tribute and a form of redemption, the great Javier García delivers the main melodies with his impeccable guitar playing, while Javier Martín Boix (aka Javibi) joins The Oldians with the picking. But when the solo arrives, we witness a conversation between their guitars, with that jazzy language they both inherited from the master Ernest Ranglin. Santi Mijarra, aka Puppa Shan, mixes the song and contributes the dub version on the B-side. It couldn't be anyone else to bring these two impeccable guitarists together for this musical project. As Javier García says: "It's a duet, not a guitar 'duel'; that was the intention from the beginning." And Javibi adds: “We respect music above all else; we don’t see it as a show-off, and I think that’s clear in the recording. Big Business is a mission, not a competition.”
