THE EXCITEMENTS - KEEPIN' ON (LP)

The Catalan Rhythm, Blues, and Soul band The Excitements returns with their fourth studio album, “Keeping 'on” (Satélite K 2021). This album features 14 tracks, brimming with classic melodies that blend seamlessly with their signature Old School Soul and Rhythm and Blues sounds, and lyrics that address both social issues and interpersonal relationships. A highlight is the addition of French singer of Somali origin, Kissia San. This new voice has allowed them to broaden their sound without losing the power that has defined them throughout the years. The collaboration in the songwriting process with James Graham, a member of Hannah Williams and the Affirmations (the British band with whom they recently toured), has opened them up to new musical structures, and the production by Neil Sugarman, head of Daptone Records, along with Marc Tena, has given the band's sound an extra layer of solidity.
