Rude (Bologna, Italy) releases his new single through the Madrid-based label Liquidator Music under his new alias 'Rudy Bolo'. Titled 'Trenta Soldi d'Argento' (Thirty Silver Coins), it's a loving tribute to his mentor and major influence, Prince Buster, and the entire Rude Boy culture.
This new single consists of two songs: 'Trenta Soldi d'Argento' and the instrumental Hammond organ version '30 Soldi Boss Hammond Version', recorded at La Panchita studio (Barcelona) with producer Chalart 58 and musicians Victor Laguna Gandía (drums), Daniel Alonso aka Daniel Mitoo (piano and Hammond organ), Ignasi Bullich (bass), Albert Vilardell (guitar), Carmen Martinez Suquía (trumpet), Miquel Mata (tenor sax), Josep Blanes (trombone) and Matha (backing vocals).
Rude is a legendary figure of the Italian underground, founder and voice of the mythical Punk /Oi Rock'n'Roll band, Ghetto 84, active since 1984. Educated and raised as Rude Boy Skinhead since 1982 and DJ and sound system operator as Rude Hi-Fi.
He has also been part of the Catalan band La Kinky Beat, has led other projects such as Rude & The Lickshots, and has worked as a collaborator and remixer with Fermin Muguruza, Manu Chao, Obrint Pas, Asian Dub Foundation, Banda Bassotti, La Bolonchona, Roy Paci & Aretuska, etc.
Besides his musical career, he has always been an unconditional fan of the original Boss Reggae and Ska, being a personal friend of Laurel Aitken, Prince Buster and Rico Rodriguez, living for several years in London, right next to Dub Vendor Records, where he spent everything he earned on 7 inch records from Trojan, Pama, Studio One, Blue Beat etc.
His concerts and DJ sets number in the hundreds, from Glastonbourne (UK) to the Fuji Rock Festival (Japan), and across Europe, Brazil, and Mexico. His discography comprises seven albums prior to this new single released by Liquidator Music.
A Rudy Bolo Sound System show is a real party where all the sounds of the musical subculture are mixed, from Boss Reggae to Original Ska, 2 Tone, Northern Soul, Boogaloo & wild R'n'B… In Italy his DJ sets are known as “authentic vintage sound al dente”.
