Hernani, 1985. Alberto Martín Legorburu is "accidentally" killed in a GAL attack. His mother, Arantxa Legorburu, is a big fan of the popular television program, "Un, dos, tres… responda otra vez" (One, two, three… answer again). His brother Ángel, spurred on by Alberto's death and by his romantic relationship with Irene, a militant of the Basque radical left, joins ETA.
In the days leading up to Alberto's murder, Arantxa sent a letter applying to participate in the game show "Un, dos, tres." A few weeks later, she received a call informing her that she had been selected to compete. Arantxa was devastated and far from being in any condition to endure such a hectic schedule and public exposure. However, she didn't want to miss this opportunity and convinced her son to go on television with his girlfriend. They consulted with the organization's leadership, who gave their approval. ETA was awaiting the arrival from Algeria of one of its leaders to establish the Madrid Commando and needed an advance team to prepare the ground. No one would suspect the contestants of the most-watched television program.
The organization informs them that they must strive to win every single program in order to remain in Madrid as long as possible. They should only lose when ETA deems it appropriate, and in that case, they will have to choose the prize of the apartment in Torrevieja (Alicante), as the organization intends to establish a cell in eastern Spain.
But the shadow of the GAL is long, and the Ministry of the Interior has other plans for Ángel, Irene, Mayra, the Basques in general, and even for La Ruperta, if you're not careful.
