PARADISE - BE A GIRL OF TODAY (REVIVAL SERIES #16)

Born from the ashes of Kaka de Luxe, Paraíso was the band formed by Fernando Márquez, "El Zurdo", in early 1979 and which, after a little over two years, dissolved in early 1980, leaving as its only legacy in life a single for Discos Zafiro with one of the anthems of the new wave, "Para ti", and the also magnificent "Estrella de la radio" on the reverse. Later, in 1993, a 7" EP was released on Nuevos Medios featuring the four songs they recorded for TVE, including "Makoki," a cover of Kaka de Luxe's ​​repertoire that they never recorded. In 2015 and 2020, demos of what was intended to be their unreleased LP were released in two separate editions. Besides "El Zurdo," the band's lineup included future members of La Mode, Antonio Zancajo and Mario Gil, as well as other musicians from bands such as Los Bólidos, Alaska y Los Pegamoides, Ejecutivos Agresivos, and Décima Víctima, among others.

In this edition, we've reissued four of the demo tracks on 7" vinyl for the first time, with the best sound quality we could achieve, including an insert with information about the songs and lyrics. Among them are two from Kaka de Luxe's ​​repertoire: the aforementioned "Makoki" and the EP's title track, "Sé de una chica de hoy" (I Know a Girl Today), with its mention of Ramoncín that caused quite a stir in the music scene at the time; and two different takes of Chapa's single: "Estrella de la radio" (Radio Star) and a faster version with female backing vocals of their classic, "Para ti" (For You).
