JASON RINGENBERG - RHINESTONED (LP)

For the first time in his entire solo career, the frontman of Jason and the Scorchers has released an album under his own name on LP. And for this occasion, a meticulously crafted edition has been produced, complete with a gatefold cover, booklet, and sound mastered specifically for this release by Mike Mariconda.
“When it came time to record Rhinestoned, I decided to call my old pal George Bradfute. George is an incredibly talented multi-instrumentalist and producer. He’s produced most of my Jason and Farmer Jason records, but we hadn’t done a full project together since 2012. His studio is in the basement of the home of 1950s country superstar Jim Reeves. It’s a place that’s part of Nashville history. I love recording in George’s studio. Some of my best musical memories came from there. Given the COVID-19 restrictions, recording was a pretty solitary process. George played most of the instruments. Steve Ebe (Carl Perkins, The Chicks, Marty Stuart) played drums. Fats Kaplin (Jack White, the Judds, Hayes Carll, Tom Russell) added his usual magic on steel guitar and fiddle. My daughters Addie and Camille contributed backing vocals and piano. There were never more than four people in the studio. Most of the time it was just George and me.” And me working in that basement steeped in history. Creating Rhinestoned felt like a huge gift, an unexpected blessing. That feeling continued when we finished the album and launched a crowdfunding campaign to release it. Old and new fans contributed their hard-earned money and their good wishes to make it all happen. In the end, what started as a very quiet solo process became a team effort, with memories I will always cherish.” Jason Ringenberg
