FIRE CULT - THE VERY EDGE OF THE SEA (LP)
The Spanish-Swiss power trio presents their debut LP, 'The Very Edge of the Sea' (Lucinda, We Die Alive, Urgence, Steady Riot, 2024), featuring ten devastatingly intense songs that combine catchy choruses with spasmodic riffs salvaged from an abandoned mine somewhere between Carole King's farm and Dinosaur Jr.'s cave. The album was recorded and mixed by Kevin Galland (Coilguns, Emilie Zoé) at Studio Mecanique in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland, and is released jointly by We Die Alive Records (San Sebastián), Urgence Disk (Geneva), Steady Riot Records (Toronto), and Lucinda Records (Madrid).
Formed in Switzerland in 2020 and currently based in San Sebastián, Fire Cult has garnered excellent international reviews, filmed two spectacular music videos with French filmmaker David Basso, and toured Spain, France, Switzerland, and Canada. Fire Cult consists of Onneca Guelbenzu (Las Furias, La Amenaza Constante, ex-Virüs, ex-Las Perras del Infierno), Jérémie Magnin (Hugs and Stitches, No Bullshit Baby!), and Thibault Besuchet (Etienne Machine, No Bullshit Baby!). Their sound is avant-garde Glam-Punk, a kind of satanic invocation of Kiss, Buzzcocks, Runaways, Pixies, and the Cars. And their shows are powerful and colorful displays of explosive, danceable, and celebratory Indie-Punk.
