The Government's new album features several significant changes, including the band's name, which is now El Gobierno, and the language, which has switched to Spanish. Given the importance they've always placed on their lyrics, this change was eagerly anticipated by many, as it will help them deliver their message more directly to their fans.
Has the sound changed? Yes, it has. It's more powerful, more energetic, but it still sounds like the old-school, good old-school government. Johnny Casino and Francisco Meneses' production has added a touch of raw energy that brings it closer to the whirlwind that is the band live.
