AFTER BURNING EVERYTHING DOWN. WRITINGS AND SONGS, JOSÉ LANOT

This is not a book, or, more accurately, it's something more than a book. It brings together some of the writings José published on social media between 2016 and 2023, revised and corrected by him with the intention of stripping away, as much as possible, any circumstantial elements that might detract from the freshness and timelessness of his very passionate reflections on art, architecture, film, history, music, politics, and a short list of other diverse topics. The texts are complemented by ten songs (on CD and digital download) composed during the same period and recorded, with the help of other musicians, under the direction of producer Fernando Pardo. These songs form an album that, while it should be considered an independent work, is framed within the unified whole that *Después de quemarlo todo* (After Burning It All) aims to be. Thus, we find ourselves before an object that reflects, in a way that is both clear and fragmentary, the personality of its author, and that, showing him as a writer and as a musician, perhaps does not transcend, but does circumvent, the pigeonholing that is usually associated with the formats with which artistic creation is shared with the public.
