CONTINENTAL LOVERS - DALE ARDEN EP
Here we present the new work of Joe Maddox, well known for playing in bands such as The Breakdowns (along with Matthew Julian of The Speedways) or The DeRellas, and who in 2019 started a personal project, Continental Lovers, first as a "one-man band" (just like his friend did at the beginning of the Speedways), then with musicians such as Steve Fielding (The Boys/Glam 45), on bass and Dec Burns (former bandmate in Breakdowns) on drums, until ending up with the current lineup, Debbie Dee on bass and Rokket R Rik- Drums on drums, with the invaluable help of Graham Jones on guitar in some tracks.
What hasn't changed are Joe's musical influences, which range from punk to power pop with a distinctive glam touch. Thus, his songs can sound like the Ramones, The Boys, Tom Petty, Buzzcocks, Joan Jett, Undertones, and especially, in the case of his new band, Cheap Trick.
